Fall out of Summer...

Where did August go?! Here's hoping everyone enjoyed a summer holiday. Now it's back to school and work and all the busyness that fall brings.

We have added Regal Select to our Benjamin Moore lineup. A mid-priced choice in the Paint plus Primer product line.

We have also added Graber Blinds to our product mix. They have a wide selection of Wood and Composite blinds, Wood Shutters, Pleated Shades and Cellular Shades, Roller Blinds, Sliding Panels, Roman Shades, Sheer Verticals, and even a new selection of Exterior Solar Shades. Come in to view the whole line or call for an appointment for Nola to come to your home.

Tartan Days

Glencoe is celebrating its Scottish Heritage with Tartan Days! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the stores are ready with their wares on the sidewalk and plenty of bargains to be had. Many are taking part in the "Say What?" contest for shoppers to guess the meaning of Scottish words. Three lucky winners of elementary school age, high school age and 'older than high school' age will win prizes valued at $70, $150, and $200.

On Friday 'Art in the Park' will start at noon at the Train Station and St. Charles School is holding a fundraising BBQ there too. A Show and Shine Car Show will take over Main Street at 5:00 and a Tractor Pull will complete the evening events. The sidewalk sales and "Say What?" contest continue all day.

Saturday brings free pancakes from 9 to 11 at the Train Station provided by the Rotary Club of Glencoe. Cheer on the Swim Team at the Glencoe Pool Swim Meet from 8 to 1. The "Say What?" contest will conclude at 4:00 after which the three winners will be determined.

This is the weekend to find yourself in Glencoe!

Blogging

Well, by now you've probably figured out that I'm not the best blogger in the world! I must admit that I'm of an age where this doesn't come naturally and I haven't got to the point where blogging fits into my daily or obviously even weekly schedule. I'm more of a one on one kind of person. Your input would be most welcome. Perhaps you have a question that I could answer - about what we do, where we are, whatever you would like to know. Ask away!

Happy New Year!

It's a brand new year! So what's new at Nola's Home Decor?

Colour Stories! Benjamin Moore has introduced the first full-spectrum colour collection offered by a major paint manufacturer. Full-spectrum means that the colour is made up of several different pigments, not just two or three like most 'regular' hues. These complex colours offer unmatched depth, luminosity, and elegance.

The Colour Stories experience is live now on benjaminmoore.ca. Come fall in love with our 240 new hues. You can also download a free Colour Stories app through the iTunes and Google Android app stores. Each of the 240 colours was formulated exclusively for Aura interior paint and is low VOC. After all, it's only appropriate to have the best colours with the best paint!
